Who we are 

HSI Group is a leader in the provision of high school programmes and experiences for young international students in Ireland and the UK, with sister companies in Canada and the US.  Operating since 1988, we are recognised as market leaders in this area and we want to both maintain that position and expand our range of programmes and expertise with the addition of a manager with leadership skills.

In addition to our high school programmes, we also operate an adult English Language centre in Dublin city centre and a specialist junior residential summer centre also in Dublin

What we want

We are looking for a mature, experienced manager for our operations in Ireland to provide operational leadership to a small team of experienced staff in both our high school company and our language school.  The position will be based in Dublin but will interact with the UK operations also

In addition to our operations in the guardianship area and in the language school, we also promote and sell our services in the international market with a small team of dedicated marketing professionals, based both in Dublin and in our UK office.  Operational Leadership extends to this area also.

Reporting to the MD, you will be expected to provide leadership in different areas of our operations.  Our team is a mature, experienced team of professionals and this will dictate the style of leadership required.  We all contribute to the success and development of our business and this will be a significant part of your role also

Key responsibilities 

·      Take responsibility for the effective delivery of our main service to our international students – placement and guardianship, and professional English language programmes

·      Setting objectives, defining roles and creating support systems to ensure that objectives are met and roles understood.

·      Manage our resources and budgets to ensure that all staff can achieve their potential and objectives

·      Deal sensitively with the personalities and characters that constitute our stakeholders.  Our business is dealing with young people, their parents, our schools, host families and our overseas partners, so empathy and understanding is crucial

·      Ensure that we excel in our guardianship quality and inspection scheme

·      Ensure that we meet our obligations under all current and future legislation, including GDPR and Children First

·      Ensure that our adult language centre meets all requirements for accreditation and inspection

·      Work with MD and marketing team on campaigns, social and other digital media, programme development and materials

·      Recruit, train and manage integration of new staff

·      Conduct continuous and periodic work reviews, self-evaluation, and staff appraisals and manage weekly and monthly review meetings

Who you are

·      You are a graduate

·      You have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

·      You are fluent in English in all four skills and have a high level of literacy

·      You have 5 years (minimum)  experience leading and managing a small dynamic team, preferably in an international education environment

·      You have experience of international living and/or studying

·      You are a strategic planner, a great organiser with great attention to detail

·      You are aware of commercial reality, have the ability to understand and implement company plans and objectives, awareness of the value and extent of competition

·      You have the ability to work with a variety of software programmes, learn new ones and contribute to our digital footprint in the industry

Who you might be

·      You were a second level teacher or teacher of ESOL

·      You have worked in an international educational services company

·      You have worked overseas with a company or as a volunteer

·      You are a car owner with a current driving licence
