Our client is a leading education consultancy that assists students in the GCC and East Africa with careers guidance, university selection and admissions, and student visas applications. They work with over 300 leading universities in the UK, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Eastern Europe.

As well as the head office in Dubai and an administrative office in London, our client has recruitment offices in major cities across East Africa: Nairobi, Eldoret and Mombasa in Kenya, Dar-Es-Salaam (Tanzania), Kampala (Uganda), Mauritius, and Kigali (Rwanda).

 

Summary of Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Director to supervise and lead all strategic and business aspects of the company’s student recruitment and marketing operations in East Africa. You will be responsible for leading a team of 80+ staff across 7 offices, giving the proper strategic direction as well as creating the vision and environment for success.  To thrive in this role you must be a prudent manager and an inspiring leader. The ideal candidate will have a target-focused mindset and have significant experience in the transnational education market.  You will ensure the company’s recruitment operation functions efficiently, while maintaining the highest levels of compliance to international standards.  The goal is to drive the company’s growth and ensure long-term success.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Develop high quality marketing and recruitment strategies and plans, ensuring alignment with short-term targets and long-term objectives

·         Lead and motivate employees, and advance employee engagement

·         Oversee all recruitment and marketing operations in East Africa, to ensure targets are met

·         Make high-quality management decisions which advance the business and increase performance

·         Enforce adherence to all legal guidelines and in-house policies to maintain the company’s compliance and business ethics

·         Use CRM systems to provide management information and devise solutions and improvements, as required

·         Build trusted relations with senior partners and stakeholders, both locally and internationally, and act as a point of contact for these

·         Analyze challenges and provide appropriate solutions to ensure targets are achieved and the company’s continued success, development and growth

·         Maintain a current knowledge of the transnational education market and industry.

 

Person Specification and Key Competencies

·         Proven experience at Senior Director level in the transnational education arena

·         An entrepreneurial, target-driven mindset with outstanding organizational and operational abilities

·         Excellent people-management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead

·         Experience in developing multiple student recruitment strategies and channels

·         Strong understanding of marketing, sales and performance management

·         Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

·         Excellent communication and public speaking skills 

·         Strong IT skills, especially with using CRM systems to provide detailed management information
