The role
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and target-driven Student Recruitment Manager to support student recruitment effort in Malaysia and Singapore. The position will work alongside the recruitment team to develop and implement ambitious sales, marketing and recruitment activities for KIPA colleges. You will have excellent organizational skills and be a self-starter with experience working internationally across diverse markets, cultures and economies. You will be responsible for achieving student recruitment targets, both market-specific and partner-specific, from East Malaysia, Johor and Singapore. All KI employee are also expected to make a significant contribution to the success of their own division as well as cooperating with colleagues working across the range of KI businesses.

 

This is a home based position with extensive travel within the region for meetings and exhibitions. The position reports directly to the Regional Director, South East Asia, and works very closely with other team members in the region.

 

Main responsibilities and functions
 

Amongst other duties, you will be responsible for: 

•       Driving student recruitment outcomes to achieve challenging recruitment targets for KIPA colleges in line with Australian Government and KI compliance requirements

•       Developing and executing the sales and recruitment strategy for East Malaysia, Johor and Singapore

•       Responsibility for sales performance and for managing the recruitment budget for the market

•       Identifying sales opportunities and barriers through discussion with KIPA and KI team members; developing action plans to create and capitalise on recruitment opportunities and overcoming the barriers

•       Driving the highest levels of performance within the team and delivering best-in-sector that customer service is to all internal and external stakeholders

•       Converting student opportunities from new leads to deposit paid including responding to all enquiries within 48 hours 

•       Assessing the Return on Investment of participating in recruitment fairs and events that take place throughout the region to prioritise and participate in high-value recruitment events and activities

•       Promoting KIPA on an on-going basis to generate new leads in the market by working with established key stakeholders, as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

•       Providing in-country support and market intelligence to the wider KIPA team and our partner universities

•       Manage agent relationships, with an emphasis on training and support to ensure high loyalty and performance

•       Be the main point of contact for agents and respond to their enquiries in an efficient and effective manner within 48 hours

•       Provide course counselling to students in regards to their study pathways from KIPA to the partner universities

•       Liaising effectively across the KIPA internal network, including the Australian Sales team, Campus/College and admissions staff and partner Universities

•       Ensuring all stakeholders are given comprehensive training; recruiting students in line with

Home Affairs regulations and have full and complete knowledge of all KIPA products 

•       Evaluating recruitment and marketing activities in the market and working within budget

•       Liaising with the Marketing department to develop market-specific collateral to support sales and recruitment in Malaysia and Singapore

•       Providing support on market-based projects as specified by the SEA Regional Director.

•       Other projects and tasks as set by Senior Management Team in line with Marketing and Recruitment priorities

 

The post involves travel within Malaysia and Singapore for exhibitions, open days, seminars and agent visits. Most of the events are held in the weekend and some on public holiday. The successful candidate (ideally) will have experience of travelling within Malaysia and Singapore, and will be confident and able to travel independently throughout the region soon after appointment to the role. 

 

Candidate profile
 

Essential:

•       Demonstrated track record of working with education sectors

•       Understanding of Australian and International Higher Education 

•       An undergraduate degree (Australian preferred) or equivalent;

•       Results-orientated, ambitious and highly motivated, ability to work to tight deadlines.

•       Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, who can engage confidently with a wide range of audiences and levels of organisational seniority

•       Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities within inflexible deadlines

•       Willing to travel domestic and overseas independently and to work irregular hours as required (required to work during weekend and public holiday)

•       Self-motivation, ability to prioritise effectively, be flexible and manage your time under pressure

•       A sound understanding of Australia’s further and higher education and/or experience of international students studying in Australia is essential

•       Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate issues to a wide audience are essential

•       High level of enthusiasm, motivation, personal commitment and independence to undertake periods of work with low supervision

•       High level of literacy and attention to detail to produce clear concise reports

 

Desirable:

•       Experience of international sales or marketing 

•       Experience of international education agent relationship management 

•       Strong grasp of marketing resources and how they can be used for different audiences

•       Fluent in English and at least one other language

 

Location

The role is based in Malaysia, ideally in either Johor Bahru, Kuching or Kota Kinabalu
