The International Admissions Officer (India) will work under the direction of the Team Leader International Admission to review and screen international student applications and support admissions functions for the University. The Regional Marketing Manager (India & Nepal) will assist with provision of daily supervision. The primary objective of the International Admissions Officer is to be responsible for the provision of a range of administrative and client services including but not limited to: processing applications for admission from international students into higher education and Vocational Education & Training courses, providing after sales and follow up services with prospective clients, agents and enrolled international students, issuing letters of offer, confirmation of enrolments and other relevant duties. As part of CDU’s International Admissions team, you will take part in regular meetings, training and development activities.

Key accountabilities

The following accountabilities are not exhaustive and may include others as directed from time-to-time.
Customer Service

  • Respond to enquiries and applications from international students and agents in a professional andtimely manner.
  • Provide accurate and up to date information to students about programs, eligibility of qualifications, admissions requirements and procedures.
  • Make follow-up conversion calls to prospective international students with outstanding offers to encourage and support them to accept their offer.
  • Deal with conflicting demands calmly and efficiently, delivering a high quality of customer service and representation of CDU.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and excellent customer service in the representation of CDU to customers.

Business Administration

  • Assess qualifications using various assessment guidelines such as AEI-NOOSR
  • Update student data on international student databases such as StudyLink, Callista, TRIM and PRISMS
  • Conduct SSVF risk assessments in compliance with University policy and procedures and according to Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) Genuine Student (GS) and Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criteria
  • Issue letters of offer, acceptances and Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) Confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs) in compliance with University policy and procedures and the Education Servicesfor Overseas Students (ESOS) Act

Knowledge and proficiency

  • Review and undertake assessment checks on student applications, based on a set criteria issued by the University, including; review of Genuine Student and Genuine Temporary Entry status, financialcapacity, education records, and conducting telephone or face-to-face interviews where required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Australian regulatory environment including; the ESOS Act, CRICOS registration requirements, and the National Code of Practice as well as University policies and procedures relevant to international students.
  • Provide advice and information to students, agents, University staff on CDU entry requirements and admissions procedures.
  • Take part in regular training and development activities including team meetings.

Selection competencies

Essential competencies

  • Eligibility to live, work and travel freely in India as well as fluency in Hindi and written and spoken English.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in the assessment procedures for international student applications
  • Demonstrated sound organisational, administrative and teamwork skills. Highly motivated with the ability to meet tight and competing deadlines with a high level of attention to detail and researchskills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a customer service focus, excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a professional telephone manner and effective liaison skills.
  • Demonstrated high-level proficiency in the use of IT applications including management systems, Word and Excel and or the willingness to learn University systems with the ability to enter data accurately with a high attention to detail.

Desirable competencies

  • Experience working in education for an Australian provider.
