Concordia University Chicago is currently seeking full time faculty to teach at The Shaw Academy, China.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to develop and establish leadership in creating an American high-school environment in a Chinese Training School in conjunction with a United States university.

The Shaw Academy will begin with 120 freshmen students with the capacity to grow to an enrollment of 800. Students will receive an American curriculum as they become proficient in the English language, so that they may articulate to a United States high school to complete their final year of study.


  • Bachelor’s degree and accredited teacher certification
  • Experience in teaching Chinese or second language learner students preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of successful full‐time teaching experience (high school preferred)
  • Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office, virtual meeting spaces such as Skype and Adobe Connect.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Meets and instructs students in assigned classes.
  • Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  • Works cooperatively with other school personnel to meet students’ needs.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by school policy.
  • Serves on content specific curriculum committees to create content, evaluate the instructional program, and improvements as needed.
  • Utilizes a variety of instructional techniques, instructional media, and technology consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the students.
  • Participates and helps design, with the Principal, faculty training for the instructional program.
