The Role 

We are looking for a Head of Sales  to play a pivotal role in the expansion of our fast-growing media, events and recruitment business. 

This leadership role will be responsible for the development and implementation of our Sales growth strategy, sitting on our Senior Management Team.

You will inspire and develop our sales team, leading by example, providing support in the day-to-day management and providing strategic direction in addition to  producing sales of your own.

Key responsibilities for the role include: 


  • Develop a deep understanding of our products, market, audience, clients value proposition, the buy-sell dynamics at play in the sector and the key drivers of integrated b2b digital marketing campaigns
  • Own, develop and implement sales/revenue strategy and budget  
  • Working with CCO and CEO to set and achieve clear KPIs and targets to drive high margin revenue growth
  • Build and deliver sales/go to market plans that keep focus aligned with the overarching strategy of the business
  • Provide consistent and constructive market feedback to support the growth strategy and product development
  • Collaborate with clients, agencies, users and internal stakeholders to develop on existing and build new revenue streams


  • Lead and develop a growing sales team to  achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual targets targets

  • Build a results-focussed culture in which your team consistently strive to solve the strategic business challenges of our audience and clients

  • Be a coach, mentor and performance manager that supports the development of their team but is not afraid to make tough decisions quickly when needed

  • Own and optimise our sales process, ensuring consistent team adherence and improvement in results

  • Take a process-led approach to decision making at all times

  • Maintain consistently high levels of productive sales activity, including cold calls, social and email outreach for the team 

  • Committed to upholding high sales and customer service standards aligned with company values

  • Collaborate with senior management, content, marketing, and operations teams as an enabler of growth 

Personal Sales and Industry Relationships

  • Hitting a New Business and Key Accounts target yourself
  • Become a ‘face’ in the industry, known for your insightful approach, and evidence-backed opinions of what good looks like for marketing solutions in your sector
  • Lead by example through being a high performing salesperson, personally driving revenue growth 
  • Quickly build valuable relationships with influential leaders at strategic accounts 
  • Be an ambassador for our brand, attending discussions, industry events and building 
  • Regularly attend networking at events, meetings and audience/client site visits (international/national)

Financial and Reporting

  • Written and verbal weekly reporting of performance against core metrics
  • Accurate and evidence-based forecasts of revenue and cost of sale 
  • Manage and report on Pipeline and activity KPIs through our CRM system (if relevant)
  • Create and present regular performance reports to the senior team and wider business

The ideal candidate will possess the following: 

  • Strong sales Leadership ability with deep B2B marketing solutions sales experience and a proven track record as a leader driving innovation and change. 
  • Success recruiting and managing salespeople at all levels and in disciplines including New Business development, Account and Key Account Development 
  • Proven experience successfully developing and implementing sales strategies
  • A passion for sales with consistently high performance vs personal and team targets and objectives
  • Experience developing new and innovative digital revenue streams
  • A strong grasp of the importance of sales process excellence and an approach that demonstrates this daily 
  • Superb communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well  in a high-pressure environment and eagerness  to tackle daunting tasks, including recruiting, hiring and managing new, collaborative teams of content creators
  • Proven success working with cross-functional teams and external partners 
  • A firm but fair and consistent approach to underperformance and conflict resolution
  • Experience building and managing budgets and forecasts to agreed targets
  • Have a sophisticated understanding of the evolving digital landscape and how to best inspire and sell to b2b marketers and agencies
  • 5-10 years experience selling in B2B media/marketing solutions/events sales
  • A thought leader with a passion for sharing opinions and insights 
  • Proven experience leading diverse teams
  • A process-led approach to decision making and  performance management
  • Experience leading scalable digital media and event sales workflows and technology
  • Proven ability to excel in cross-departmental collaborative settings
