This is a unique opportunity for an outstanding candidate to make a significant and key contribution in delivering our ambitious vision and recruitment targets.  With responsibility for all student recruitment & country specific conversion activities of international fee paying students across UG, PGT and PGR levels of study, as well as pre-sessional English and international foundation programmes, you will directly affect the success of an internationally ranked university and its standing in the market. In delivering our International student and recruitment activity you will lead the University’s Global Recruitment (International) team, one of five teams forming the Global Recruitment and Admissions service at the University with all elements of the service having student recruitment as a priority, leading work in an integrated way with all other parts of the function to achieve its objectives.

Understanding customer journeys and sales cycles, you will develop strategy, tactics, recruitment plans and objectives. Highly motivated, astute, strategic and proactive, you have a great track record in delivering for high-profile, large and/or complex organisations. You’ll be an inspiring leader with proven ability to manage teams, projects and resources. You’ll work with energy and confidence with the ability to bring new and innovative solutions to challenges where there may be no clear precedents. You must be able to work at pace in a fast-moving environment – able to spot opportunities early to stay ahead of our competitors and identify opportunities in target markets.

An expert in your field, you’ll be able to build and maintain strong networks of internal and external stakeholders. Above all, you’ll be able to help lead change in an exciting time of transformation both for the University as a whole and for Global Recruitment and Admissions. 

You will have:

  • Strong understanding of the global higher education market
  • Substantial experience in a directly relevant role, either in student recruitment or in a directly translatable customer acquisition role
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to work with data to identify trends and market opportunities
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys and sales cycles and behaviours
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a wide range of people up to the most senior levels and to inspire trust and confidence
  • Ability to undertake significant periods of overseas travel
