Position Summary: The Head of College Coaching is responsible for supporting coaches to

ensure that all Blue Ivy students reach their highest academic potential. The Area

Head will work with Leadership, co-Area Heads and coaches to promote

coach wellbeing and develop the best strategies for student success related to the college exploration and application processes.  

The Head of College Coaching will work closely with the Coaches to cultivate a strong achievement-centered culture; train coaches in college coaching methodology; engage in program evaluation and development; and track student progress.

Reports to: Academic Director 

Supervises: College Coaches (approximately 10)

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Program Development & Management: The Head of College Coaching works with

Leadership and Academic Director  to evaluate, enhance, and expand College Coaching programs, including University Orientation, University Advising, Application Coaching, College Kick Off, and new initiatives.  Area Head evaluates efficacy of program structure and content. The Head of College Coaching continuously reviews current curriculum and makes adaptations and additions as necessary.  Area Head updates student pipelines in addition to other administrative duties.

2. Supervision: The Head of College Coaching provides initial ongoing training and supervision to all college coaches, via regular individual and team meetings.  Area Head monitors student progress through check ins with coaches, review of written reports and class reviews; provides feedback to coaches and follows up with Academic Director and families as necessary. In collaboration with Academic Director, Area Head conducts twice yearly evaluations of coaches. 

3. Hiring: The Head of College Coaching will participate in the interview process for

new coaches and make recommendations to leadership regarding the hiring,

retention, and assignment of Blue Ivy coaching staff.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-6pm (flexible)
