We are looking for a manager of our Dublin operations in the field of international education services.  Established in 2002 but with prior history to 1987, we are a top-class player worldwide in educational  opportunities for second level students. HSI specialises in the placement and guardianship of overseas students in schools with operations in Ireland, the UK and sister operations in Canada and the US.  In addition, we operate an adult English language school in Dublin city centre and a summer residential English language centre.

We are now looking for a dynamic General Manager for our Dublin office. 

The roles and responsibilities will mainly involve:

  • Managing a staff of 10, ranging from accounts to operations to student services and centre manager
  • Providing training, encouragement and support to our operations people
  • Recruiting and inducting new operatons staff. 
  • Managing relations via our staff with our other stakeholders – schools, overseas partners, students, etc
  • Managing our media and materials production with our sales manager and operations staff
  • Assisting in our sales and marketing functions
  • Liaising with our auditors, debtors and creditors with budgets and P&L
  • Strategic planning in consultation with our sales/marketing and operations teams
  • Ensuring that we are meeting all of our local and international legal obligations - such as GDPR

 Reporting to the Managing Director

 Salary:  Depending on experience and skills

 Essential Qualifications:

  • You are a fluent, fluid and engaging communicator - and you must have fluent, accurate English - oral and written
  • Best people manager there is.  Our staff are all adults and expert in what they do - they don't really need to be told what do to or how to do - just the right environment in which to do it
  • Best attention to detail. We deal with kids and we can not afford mistakes!
  • Ability to grasp overall picture and think strategically - you need to figure out what this means
  • Ability to deal and work with a cranky boss

 Desirable Qualifications:

  • Small team experience
  • Experience/Expertise in digital media
  • Foreign travel –preferably work or study experience abroad
  • Experience in a multi-national environment
