A US headquartered client of The PIE is looking to hire a talented General Manager, China to lead their operations in that market. Our client has an extensive global reach and is known for its quality of English language teaching internationally. This newly created role will manage China operations, with a strong focus on leading and managing the sales team to succeed. 

The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader with a track record in international education. They will have a consultative and collaborative approach; a strategic and analytical mind and will be proactive and resilient in their sales approach.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, the General Manager for China will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to sales, operations and marketing in China. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coach the sales team to help achieve sales targets
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies and initiatives
  • Manage overall operations
  • Create marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and promote all educational products (B to B and B to C)
  • Staff recruitment and support
  • Manage, motivate and coach China-based employees
  • Create yearly agreements with agents
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships with agents
  • Ensure high customer and agent satisfaction
  • P&L management
  • Develop financial budgets and ensure all departments adhere to it
  • Promote company's mission and values
  • Clearly communicate goals and objectives to team
  • Participate at seminars and conferences            

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Preferred Focus related to Business

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in the international education/recruitment industry in China
  • Strong leadership, sales and account management skills
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively in a large organization
  • Strategic-minded, results-driven and pressure-resilient
  • Strong financial and operational background
  • Proficient with technology, reporting systems and CRM
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Beneficial to have existing network and relationships within the education industry in China
  • Keen understanding of the U.S educational industry

Competencies:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interaction communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and information to executive leadership team
  • Ability to multi-task and handle a wide variety of job functions and prioritize based on business value

Travel Requirements: Up to 35% Domestic Travel
