We are inviting applications for the new, senior management positon of International Business Development and Marketing Manager, to assist the owners/directors and the senior management team in the operation and development of the company, with a particular focus on planning and implementation of a sales, marketing and business development strategy over the next five years. Working closely with the Senior Operations Manager and Senior Academic Manager, the International Business Development and Marketing Manager will play a pivotal role in the development of the company overall - its ethos, its staff, its structures, its practices, its product range, its services, its accreditations, its partnerships, its alliances, its memberships as well as its branding and presence in the global education market.

The responsibilities of this senior position may change and develop over time, but will include the following:

  • Identify new and exciting business opportunities for the company, and explore and develop these working closely with the company directors/owners and senior management team.
  • Develop a comprehensive Business Development and Marketing strategy for the company, focusing on opportunities for both direct student recruitment and recruitment via agencies, to our four different course strands: Adult English language programmes; off-season Mini-stays; Teenage Summer Camp; and academic year High School Placements. As well as more traditional marketing methods, the strategy must include development and implementation of a comprehensive Digital Marketing Plan, aimed at increasing our online presence and developing online brand awareness internationally.
  • Travel extensively worldwide to participate in global recruitment activities such as workshops, fairs and seminars, as well as direct visits to agencies and institutions thus driving international enrolments across all course strands and promoting a diverse international student population.
  • Manage a Sales, Marketing and Admissions team of up to six professionals, identifying and championing their talents and strengths, delegating and assigning duties accordingly.
  • Mentor and champion all staff, but specifically, the marketing and admissions team, identifying their talents and training needs, and acting accordingly.
  • Analyse sales and marketing trends and opportunities internationally in competing markets (UK, USA, Malta, Canada, Australia, NZ etc.) and domestically in competing educational companies in Ireland.
  • Set goals and targets for the company as a whole and for the individual Marketing and Admissions Team members, frequently updating the directors and the teams with regards to progress towards goals and enrolment numbers.
  • Manage ISI Dublin’s annual marketing and recruitment budget and provide regular reports showing progress towards savings and recruitment goals.
  • Manage and oversee the development and creation of all marketing materials, including branding, logos, merchandise, brochures, catalogues and website.
  • In conjunction with the Admissions Manager, cultivate and maintain solid and loyal relationships with all educational agents, government organizations overseas and at home, and schools/colleges abroad.
  • Provide on-going training, support and detailed programme information to external global marketing and recruitment partners, supporting them at promotional events ensuring they can accurately and competently promote the ISI Dublin experience.
  • Work with the Academic and Admissions teams to identify and develop new product opportunities.
  • Act as spokesperson and face of the company in absence of Directors/owners, or as and when required.
  • Be open to and capable of jumping into any operational or management role that may arise within the school due to seasonal changes, temporary staff shortages or emergency situations. 

Education, experience, skills and attributes

Please note: Non-EEA candidates must already have full established visa permission to live and work full-time in Ireland. We are not offering a work permit application for this post. 

  • Bachelor’s or Master's Degree ideally in a Marketing or Business discipline 
  • At least 10 years’ experience working in the EFL (English as a Foreign Language) industry/International Student Recruitment/Global Educational Markets and/or a related industry.
  • At least 5 years’ experience working at a senior management/strategic level in Business Development and/or Marketing, preferably in the EFL industry or a related industry in Ireland or abroad.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues in the Irish EFL industry, and how these affect product development, staff, students and day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent English language writing, editing and speaking skills (must be native speaker or have passed Cambridge Proficiency in English or equivalent).
  • An appreciation and understanding of the high quality, cutting-edge graphic, print and interior design, which is reflected in ISI Dublin’s identity and brand.
  • Strong attention to detail, with experience of project managing creative development, both in-house and via external creative agencies.
  • Track record of managing and mentoring staff, as well as attracting and retaining talented individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with directors/owners, as well as colleagues across all areas and levels of the company.
  • Capable of organizing and managing complex projects with several stakeholders, within specific time limits
  • Thorough knowledge, understanding and experience of all digital marketing platforms.
  • Experience setting and managing large budgets.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be adaptable and flexible regarding duties.
