The Division Sales Manager, Canada position has been created to accelerate the implementation of the guard.me commercial strategy in Canada. The role will be based in the Head Office in Toronto and will report into the guard.me VP of Sales and Marketing.

About the position:

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage the talented Canada-based sales team (7), you will have accountability for developing and delivering the sales plan and will drive hands on sales activity with the goal of meeting defined targets for your team’s territory (Canada).

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the achievement of guard.me’s global growth strategy.

Other duties include creating and broadening relationships with key senior level clients at educational initiations in Canada in order to develop the organisation’s profile and deliver a full and extended range of guard.me services in Canada.

General Description: 

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the International Education industry is required in Canada or overseas, demonstrating results and meeting targets, combined with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

This role will involve domestic travel, throughout Canada (30 – 35%), as well as the possibility of some international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help formulate and deliver the Canada sales plan to achieve targets
  • Train, coach and lead sales team through exceptional sector, market, and product knowledge
  • Track, measure, and communicate sales results 
  • Develop and maintain a work ethic and environment conducive to the needs of your region as defined from time to time by guard.me
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with new and existing clients at a very senior level in education institutions in Canada.  
  • Identify and develop new business revenue growth in line with guard.me objectives
  • Visit and liaise with senior level clients to introduce new insurance products and encourage them to buy for their students
  • Attend networking and educational events as well as industry trade-shows and conferences, professionally representing guard.me, primarily throughout Canada, as well as globally as required.
  • Report writing and budget management
  • Providing on time and accurate sales and activity reports to senior management which include: weekly reports, forecasts, metrics on activity levels, monthly sales reports
  • Keep up to date with market, territory and industry trends and competitors
  • Meet monthly/annual sales targets and KPI’s

About you

  • You are a talented sales leader with a proven track record of sales in the international education sector (B2B) 
  • You have proven ability to establish and grow client relationships at a very senior level
  • You have comprehensive education-sector knowledge preferably in Canada
  • You possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • You have substantial experience of sales and relationship management in education
  • You are a strong relationship manager at a key account level 
  • You must be flexible in terms of travel 
  • You have high levels of commercial acumen
  • You are educated to degree level 
  • You have an understanding of the Canadian and international educational market 

Desirable

  • Previous experience living, studying or working abroad
  • Significant experience of over achieving in sales
  • Have an interest and understanding of insurance in the international education industry
