HFS London specialises in homestay (host family) accommodation for international students, interns and tourists in London. We are registered with and inspected by the British Council.

We have a large database of host families registered with us across north, south, east and west London (zones 1-4). We also have contracts with some of London’s most established language schools, business schools, study abroad agents and universities to supply accommodation to thousands of overseas students every year.

We are looking for a full-time Client Sales Executive (CSE)

Relationships are at the heart of our business and the roles within it. Our CSEs are the front line of the business and are primarily responsible for:

  1. With the support of our Client Relationship Managers and Business Development Director, proactively selling our services to new clients (schools and overseas agents)
  2. Meeting the needs of our clients by booking their international students into our accommodation
  3. Maintain/develop relationships with their allocated account of existing clients

We are looking for positive, can-do candidates with a real desire to learn and self-develop, whilst directly helping the Company to expand the business. The candidate needs to have an inquisitive mindset, and an intrinsic interest in people and relationships. A passion for the travel, and specifically language travel, is highly preferred.

The role naturally requires a strong commercial mindset, backed up by equally strong administrative skills.

On the relationship/commercial side, you will need to:

  1. Meet targets/KPIs (e.g. number of weekly sales calls made, monthly financial/income, booking turnaround time, number of client meetings);
  2. Juggle multiple bookings from different clients at any one time;
  3. Be comfortable in managing an account of educational clients both through face to face contact (e.g client review meetings) and excellent service;
  4. Aided by the Client Relationship Managers and the Business Development Director, grow your portfolio of clients by holding first meetings to pitch our service and win new business;
  5. Support the Business Development team on “Projects” to grow the HFS brand and business

The ideal candidate will therefore have an outgoing/confident personality. They should not be scared to pick up the phone and cold call a potential client to sell our services or accompany the Client Relationship Managers or the Business Development Director on sales meetings to grow their client base.

On the administrative side of the role you will need to:

  1. place international students in host family accommodation using our tailor-made booking system;
  2. create shortlists to match international students with suitable host families using our booking system;
  3. draw up booking confirmations and invoices for all parties when a student is placed in a homestay;
  4. handle all queries and complaints, whether from student, host family or language school/agent, to resolve disputes wherever possible;
  5. keep accurate and up to date records of all bookings and associated administrative procedures, as well as assisting Management in reporting requirements;
  6. keep thorough and accurate records of conversations and meetings with existing and perspective clients, including a robust system for follow up calls and meetings;
  7. cover the administrative duties of other team members as and when necessary, such as raising new and updating existing host family profile details and booking confirmation templates, updating the Families Database and making host family availability call-outs;
  8. provide general reception and administrative duties including answering telephone, taking messages etc.

Annual Salary: £23k to £28k (depending on experience)

Term: 3 month probationary period with view of permanent contract thereafter

Location: River fronted offices at Trinity Buoy Wharf (E14 0FP). Nearest stations: East India DLR (10 mins walk) or Canning Town Tube (Jubilee line) station (12 mins walk)

Minimum Requirements: British/EU passport holder or suitable working visa; excellent written and spoken English; strong computer literacy skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel ESSENTIAL.
