We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Team Manager who can lead our agency led sales team to achieve great results in a competitive market. This Holborn based position will be fundamental to continued growth through an extensive portfolio of international partners. Having responsibility for a team that sits across London and Dublin we require excellent communication and leadership skills. The responsibility for relationship management in key source markets and development of our wider growth strategy makes this an extremely exciting opportunity for the right candidate. The successful individual will have bags of energy, a strong passion for results and a wealth of industry experience.

Business Development Team Manager - Holborn

Summary

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Business Development Team Manager will have the ability to foresee requirements of our partners, building sustainable and strategic links to better serve their business needs. A depth of sector knowledge and keen eye for commercial opportunity will be necessary tools for success. Data analysis and knowledge of market trends are key skills required to determine future direction of the business. The Business Development Team Manager will not only build on the performance of their immediate markets but also support and mentor a team in achieving their wider goals. Service being at the heart of our sales function will require the ability to produce and deliver invaluable training, information and support to international partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for heading up new growth in given geographical target areas as well as continued expansion among existing clients – this covers all possible domestic sales channels - agent, companies, referrals etc.
  • Work with marketing team to support the implementation of marketing strategy and increased brand awareness
  • Determine commercial opportunities, take action converting to sale and ensure the continuation of such revenue streams
  • Building and nurturing relationships with existing partners to strengthen associations and deliver a superior sales performance
  • Attend industry fairs representing our business both in the UK, Ireland and internationally
  • Drive peak performance and sales success across reporting staff
  • Create, negotiate and close commercial agreements
  • Responsible for devising and implementing the strategy for meeting sales performance targets
  • Lead, foster and encourage a sales and customer service culture across a multi-site team
  • Have a high level of knowledge and understanding of markets, products and services
  • Communicate effectively with the global organisation
  • Develop new sources of business  and sustain and grow existing channels
  • Implement practices that develop and sustain business and long term growth
  • Create and deliver training both internally and externally
  • Manage relevant budgets and targets
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director and in both definition and delivery of budgets/targets
  • Help ensure that the company delivers on its service commitments – from bookings to credit control
  • Be fully aware of all internal procedures with regards to quality issues and to play a lead role in the quality cycle
  • Produce reports as and when required with specific recommendations for future action
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director and Direct Sales Team Manager in developing a sales through service approach to the business

  • Knowledge of existing inbound language travel markets and established relationships

  • Technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong team management and organisational skills
  • An excellent negotiator and relationship builder
  • Hard working, well organised, enthusiastic, creative, forward thinking and fun-loving
  • Flexible approach to frequent travel
  • Multilingual favourable although not a requirement
