Title: Business Development Manager for Spanish Speaking Region
Location: Mexico City
Reports to: President & Managing Director
Tamwood International is an award-winning group of private companies operating language schools, careers colleges, summer camps and work programs in Canada and the USA.  Headquartered in Vancouver, the company recruits international students from around the world largely through its network of overseas representative partners. The BDM for LATAM is responsible for managing our B2B sales in the region and has a mission to grow business through identification and sales to new agent accounts and increasing business with existing agents. Tamwood is seeking a professional sales person who is based in Mexico City for this position. This position requires a lot of travel to meet partners and attend sales events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trains Tamwood’s study abroad partner agencies’ sales force in the territory.
  • Plans daily-weekly-monthly customer contacts and prospecting strategies.
  • Makes daily sales contacts with customers and prospects through appointment, drop-in,  telephone, and mail.
  • Cold calls and follows-up to develop prospects and customers.
  • Develops accounts through relationship building
  • Produces estimates and quotes
  • Ensuring that the Tamwood customer relationship management database is current at all times by logging all activities, future tasks, opportunities and contacts
  • Implements consultative and solution selling strategies
  • Attends business-to-business trade shows and industry conferences
  • Ensures timely reporting of Sales activities and results
  • Carries out other related duties as required. 


  • Education: Diploma in Business or Sales preferred
  • Experience: at least 2 years in B2B sales, preferably in education
  • Proven success in growing sales significantly for a B2B sales company
  •  Proven commitment to past employers – we will only consider applicants who have the ability and intent to commit to this job for at least two years
  • Comfortable with foreign cultures and international travel – estimated time on the road is 5/6 months a year.
  • Experience with MS Office and a Client Relationship Management program, ideally Salesforce.
  •  Knowledge of social media and web-based training
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a territory by increasing sales of existing customers and generating new customers
  • Excellent research skills to identify new opportunities
  • Excellent cold-calling skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high volume of activities
  • Excellent contact management skills
  • Excellent customer service orientation and ability to build relationships
  • Based in Mexico City
