Anglo-Continental provides high-quality academic, business and professional English language courses for international students.  Founded in Bournemouth in 1950, it is accredited by the British Council in Britain, a member of the professional association English UK and officially recognised as a Teacher Training and Examination Centre.  With over 67 years of successful development, this family run school is among the world's leaders in teaching English as a Foreign Language.  Due to the retirement of our current Academic Head, we are seeking a person of the highest calibre with the vision, drive and expertise to develop further our successful school.  The Academic Head will be responsible for the planning, quality, delivery and development of Anglo-Continental's curricula, academic resources and continuing the school's ethos.

The Academic Head will work with the Senior Management Team and be responsible to the Managing Director. They will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring effective implementation of Anglo-Continental's Academic Administration which includes: recruitment of staff and personnel liaison as well as student welfare and academic support.

Strong academic leadership and delivery of high quality teaching; ensure the highest possible standards of excellence in all Anglo-Continental's activities; create a dynamic, forward looking research environment; continue to develop the Anglo-Continental's position as a leading English language provider and be responsible and accountable for setting and advancing the academic strategy of the school.

Essential in the person specification are:

Academic management experience; broad range of teaching experience; first degree or equivalent; DELTA or equivalent diploma; excellent communicator (written and verbal) with sponsors, agents, students and colleagues; committed to continuing professional development; a hard-working team player with integrity, sound interpersonal skills and sensitivity; ability to see the wider picture and an eagerness to participate fully in the life of Anglo-Continental.
