The Role
Are you excited about strategic marketing and business development in a B2B setting, aimed at C-level? Passionate about developing and marketing digital solutions to education institutions worldwide? And eager to implement scalable marketing tools & processes?

We are looking for an experienced B2B Marketing Director, to lead our global marketing towards universities and other partners in the higher education industry.

You will lead the University Marketing team, including our b2b marketeer, senior editor, product manager, and client experience manager. You will work closely with our global commercial teams and sales ops, and report to the Chief Revenue (and Relationships) Officer.

 
Your goals & responsibilities

  • Achieve growth targets on new business and partnership upselling, in close collaboration with the commercial team
  • Marketing strategy: Optimise and own the university marketing strategy. Includes tactics to boost our brand awareness, lead generation, and achieve high levels of engagement with C-level prospects
  • Value proposition, go-to-market & pricing: Together with the CRO, commercial teams, and product team, you define what solutions we offer to whom. You implement improvements and changes together with sales ops, including sales materials and training
  • Brand building: Build on our brand and mission, through storytelling, design, visuals, thought leadership, and client experience
  • Boost strategic partnerships: Our partnerships with universities are strategic, multi-year, and involve multiple stakeholders at various seniority levels. You bring a focused and effective marketing approach to develop such partnerships
  • High performing team: Develop and lead the University Marketing team, enable your team to reach new highs and maximise their personal growth
  • Planning and execution: Provide structure and focus, including a clear planning and responsibilities of marketing actions and innovation projects
  • Scalability & efficiency: Set up simple, scalable, and automated marketing tools and processes (for instance in lead qualification, lead nurturing, or creating performance dashboards)
  • Tracking performance & impact: Ensure we track our marketing impact whenever possible, to have reliable data to inform our decision making and optimize our strategy
  • Full-journey client experience: Engage clients in any phase, with effective, branded communications: from prospect to loyal partner

Requirements

  • Exceptional marketeer with a great track record in a B2B environment with digital/online products
  • 8+ years’ work experience, including management responsibility
  • Experience in marketing digital solutions to large accounts (like universities): complex, multi-year contracts with multiple stakeholders.
  • You add value in every area of marketing, including branding, events, paid ads, lead nurturing, strategy, and much more
  • Tech savvy & automation oriented: able to set up effective marketing processes and tooling, automated where possible.
  • Result oriented, with a focus on effective execution and robust pipeline management
  • Quick decision maker, driven by data. You track and measure where possible; yet are comfortable taking decisions based on limited data and rough assumptions if needed.
  • Not afraid to roll up your sleeves: you will be leading a small team, and are happy to be involved in operational activities
  • Experience with brand building and growing brand awareness
  • A big plus: Background in marketing high value (digital) products to universities, such as LMS, CRM, OPM, Publisher, Pathways, or similar
  • Study abroad experience is another plus
  • Entrepreneurial by spirit, driven to get things done, appreciate open feedback, dedicated, and serious about having fun
