TopUp Learning London (Tti School of English) is seeking an experienced Director of Studies to join our team at our independent boutique school in Camden. We take our role as an English language school very seriously, and we are accredited by the British Council and a member of English UK. However, we also do everything we can to ensure students feel comfortable, welcome, and safe, leading many students to describe TopUp Learning London as their “Home from Home”.
Our school offers classes to adult students all year round and junior students during the summer.
As the Director of Studies, you will be responsible for all aspects of the academic program including (but not limited to):
- Manage all academic courses offered by TopUp Learning London (Tti School of English)
- Observe and evaluate teachers regularly and give written feedback
- Keep all staff records in accordance with British Council requirements and TopUp Learning London systems.
- Preparing teaching timetables
- Inducting and supporting the teachers
- Holding regular staff meetings
- Leading CPD sessions
- Dealing with student enquiries
- Recruitment of new teachers and ensuring all HR paperwork is collected
- Act as cover teacher when necessary
- Liaise with administrative and teaching staff to organise a social program for the students.
- Be available and visible to students and staff to support and give advice
Designated Safeguarding Lead duties:
- Developing safeguarding standards and responding to concerns
- First point of contact for safeguarding enquiries
- Keep your knowledge in-depth and up-to-date so that you can advise and support other staff members in your workplace
- Keep the safeguarding policy and procedures updated
Qualifications
Essential
DELTA, MA Tesol or Trinity Diploma
CELTA
Undergraduate degree
At least 2 years’ experience in academic management
