Your Responsibilities
The International Student Marketing Specialist is responsible for leading strategic recruitment marketing efforts within the International Office (IO) including identifying targeted strategies, proposing new initiatives to address the most critical challenges in the areas of international student recruitment.

You will be responsible for leading, implementing and evaluating the Universities student marketing activities, specifically in target international markets. As a leader, your expertise and experience in digital and traditional mechanisms will help drive student applications to enroll at KAUST.

• Lead marketing and advertising strategy to support recruitment of international students.
• Provide detailed strategic plan for implementation of innovative marketing engagement strategies and identify KPIs to measure our success in international student recruitment.
• Pitch innovative strategies and ideas based on global trends, leveraging the unique characteristics of KAUST within an integrated plan.
• Oversee student marketing agency activities for international recruitment campaigns including coordination of all KAUST related content.
• Engage, interact and influence internal stakeholders to implement proposed marketing activities and maximize story-telling opportunities that appeal to student audiences.
• Analyze, evaluate and implement best practices to innovate marketing impact in support of outreach and recruitment.
• Oversee the development of key messages and themes to build content for recruitment and outreach activities such as digital and print brochures, websites, marketing flyers etc.
• Drive a systematic approach to supporting recruitment trips, student conference exhibits and equipping stakeholders with a toolkit of collateral materials (digital and print).
• Develop annual marketing report and evaluation of performance against identified KPIs.
• Identify effective technology-based platforms (Hobsons Connect, College Week Live etc.) to actively engage prospective students
• Manage all IO websites and digital outreach activities.
• Creative lead for all IO videos and collateral materials.
• Manage marketing budget to ensure efficiency and flexibility to capture new opportunities.

Your Experience and Expertise
You should have some major achievements in your career and consider yourself a seasoned professional. If you have University experience, your transition to KAUST will be smooth – however experience working in complex organizations or in a start-up environment, will also make you successful.

Given the position, you should have demonstrated knowledge of marketing strategies, specifically in student recruitment practices. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in activating strategic initiatives-digital and print, that can be measured.

You should be highly creative and have strong communication skills—especially as a writer with a passion for details that bring ideas to life. As a leader, your commitment to cultivating collaboration among your peers and executives will manifest itself through your positive interactions and productive self-management. Your Bachelor’s degree (or MS) in communication, marketing, or other similar field combined with your experience makes you an ideal candidate.

The mission of the International Office is to support our faculty and Academic Divisions achieve their recruitment objectives and facilitate strategic recruitment of international students.

Positioned under the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the International Office is a small but focused team that partners across the University to leverage ideas and talent to support international student recruitment.

The International Office team is comprised of a Director and 8 staff members who come from over five countries and together we collaborate across our expertise areas to ensure all good ideas take flight.
