About the Role 
We are seeking a dynamic leader to come join us as the College Director within Swinburne College.  In this integral role, you will support the Swinburne College Board of Directors (Board) in developing the College’s strategy and priorities, and will be accountable for the overall leadership of Swinburne College.

You will manage, monitor and report to the Swinburne College Board on all College matters. As agreed with the Board, you will direct and implement policies, procedures, frameworks and programs to deliver agreed targets and KPIs, including; student enrolment, revenue, EBITDA, student success rates, and student progression to Swinburne. 

Utilising your strong leadership skills, the College Director will manage the Swinburne College workforce, building a workforce and culture that enables the College to deliver on its strategy and ensuring a positive workplace experience for its staff and for the community.  

Leading a team of passionate and skilled teaching staff, the incumbent is responsible for implementing required regulatory and policy frameworks to deliver Swinburne’s pathway programs in Melbourne, with a key focus on student success and the student experience. In so doing, you will work in partnership with various teams at UP and with Swinburne’s Schools and units. In that context, the College Director oversees the effective implementation of the Services Agreement between Swinburne College and Swinburne, and between Swinburne College and UP Education. 

This role formally reports to the Board, on a day-to-day basis the, however you will work with Swinburne’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) and UP’s CEO, University Partnerships & Australia to meet the quality, compliance and commercial imperatives of Swinburne College. 

 
About Swinburne College
Swinburne College was established in 2020 as a joint venture partnership between Swinburne and UP Education (UP) to deliver a range of pathway programs for both international and domestic students.

These programs (Foundation Year, UniLink Diplomas, ELICOS, Postgraduate Qualifying Program) assist students to reach the entry requirements for a university degree, transition from post-secondary to higher education or improve English language skills. Pathway program teachers are responsible for inspiring, engaging and educating our students for the 21st century, implementing industry best practice and applying current learning technologies and contemporary learning pedagogies.

 
About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

·       Demonstrated high-level leadership experience in the vocational, pathways or higher education sector.

·       Proven leadership and team building skills and proven experience in leading, coordinating and motivating staff (including academic staff) across a range of diverse functions and activities.

·       Strategic finance and operational excellence focus with extensive experience in the development and implementation of strategies and/or strategic initiatives including measurable plans.

·       Exceptional interpersonal skills and experienced in interacting effectively at a senior level with both internal and external stakeholders to develop relationships built on trust.

·       High-level experience in leading the agenda and presenting to Boards.

·       Proven ability in strategic workforce planning, managing budgets and interpreting financial and business information to ensure key indicators, projected forecasts and targets are achieved.

·       Relevant postgraduate qualifications

·       Demonstrated high-level leadership experience in the vocational, pathways or higher education sector.
