The Manager of International Sales is a full-time position with MLA Move Language Ahead, which is the trade name for Go Languages WorldWide Ltd. They work under the direct supervision of the Chief Operations Office (COO) for Study World Corporation. The Manager of International Sales position is responsible for achieving sales for non-Italian clients, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties directly.

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional work hours may be required to include Saturdays or evenings when necessary.


Travel is required. Overnight and international travel of approximately 3-4 months per year is expected.


The Manager of International Sales must have a Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing or business administration along with prior sales experience of at least six (6) years in the Junior English as a second language field and must represent MLA Move Language Ahead values and model those values to subordinates and colleagues.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Master’s Degree in finance, marketing or business administration



  • Assists the COO in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for international student enrollment at MLA Summer Centers.
  • Manages sales/marketing operating budgets in conjunction with the COO.
  • Supports the COO with sales forecasting activities and recommends performance goals accordingly.
  • Deliver 1.5 million (GBP) in annual Junior Summer, non-Italian, sales.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.


  • Makes recommendations on advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail for international agents and students; to include the annual publication of a Junior Vacation Courses catalog(s) and website.
  • Assists in developing and recommending pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
  • Makes bi-weekly contributions to the MLA blog focused on international student enrollment trends and markets.
  • Assist with Social Media strategies to produce an English presence on Facebook.
  • Produces a weekly email blast to a curated list of international agents and agencies to promote the MLA products and services.

Research, Development and Reporting

  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
  • Accurately records all activity and sales in the MLAeasy management software.
  • Assists in preparing monthly marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
  • Assists in preparing monthly sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion and presents to executive management.

Client Relations

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product.
  • Meets with key clients in their home offices, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals. 


  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
  • Coordinates liaison between sales department and other non-sales related units.
