The role

The Student Services Manager has a critical role at Stafford House Boston. You will work closely with the Director of Studies and Center Director to ensure that each one of our students has a life changing experience studying at Stafford House Boston.

You will have supervisory responsibility for the following areas: Admissions, Accommodations, Administration, Orientation & Graduation, Career Preparation Activity, Student Ambassador Program, Special Groups, and/or other programs and services to be determined.

You will create and maintain a culture of outstanding customer service amongst your team and require excellent communication and inter-personal skills; projecting a professional and courteous manner at all times when representing the School.

Your team will be the face of Stafford House Boston and the first impression students have with the School.

The Student Services Manager role will develop and change as our programs and services evolve.

Key responsibilities
Customer Service

  • Manage the overall delivery of an outstanding experience for students, providing training and development to the student services team in center.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of industry leading customer service.
  • Answer all emails and telephone calls in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the other Student Services and Administrative Stafford House teams to ensure best customer experience for all participants.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain excellent rapport with Agents.


Admissions Management

  • Be responsible for the line management of the Admissions Coordinator.
  • Oversee database entry and incoming registrations.
  • Follow-up with applicants in order to finalize payments and confirm arrival dates.
  • Actively follow up with students in order to collect and process outstanding payments.
  • Support remote sales team with inquiries.


Accommodation Management

  • Be responsible for the line management of the Accommodation Coordinator and residence RAs.
  • Take the lead on forward planning accommodation capacity, working closely with the Accommodation Coordinator, to ensure that student bookings can be fulfilled.
  • Oversee residence allocation, ensuring that voids are minimized.


Administrative Management

  • Manage the overall provision of administrative services to provide effective services to students and to ensure that all governance and compliance standards are maintained.
  • Train as a DSO, in order to be able to assist with general administrative functions such as student payments, program extensions, basic immigration advising, I-20 general processing, tuition due notices, and vacation and leave of absence requests.


Orientation & Graduation

  • Supervise weekly orientations.
  • Work with the Director to Studies to ensure graduating students are identified, exit tested, and surveyed; ensure certificates are prepared and oversee conducting of graduation.


Career Preparation Activity

  • Manage the Career Preparation alongside the Director of Studies with recruitment of host companies and maintenance of host company relationships, placement of students in the Career Preparation Activity, tracking of student experience, and collection of post-activity testimonials and/or networking events or poster sessions.


Student Activities

  • Supervise the Student Activities Coordinator and ensure coverage of all planned events.
  • Coordinate that the student activities program are diverse and engaging.


Student Ambassador Program

  • Supervise hiring of Student Ambassadors as needed by department.
  • Oversee effective management of the Student Ambassador program.

  • Has the legal ability to work in the United States (we will not be offering sponsorship).
  • Has experience managing and developing teams.


  • Experience living or studying abroad.
  • Second Language ability.
  • Experience with conflict resolution.
  • Experience communicating with English learners.
