Principal, Kings Bournemouth

Kings Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Following the departure of the current Principal at the end of the summer, Kings Education is seeking a suitability-qualified candidate for this key role at Kings Bournemouth.

Kings Bournemouth is part of the Kings Education group. Along with our other UK-based colleges, it is registered as an independent school with the Department for Education and accredited by the British Council.

The college, with three school buildings and four residences, delivers a broad range of English language courses for young adults as well as academic programmes for university-bound students aged 15 and over - including GCSE, A-Level and specialist Foundation courses. Kings Bournemouth is also a well-known provider of summer courses for junior students.

The Principal will provide effective leadership and management across the whole college.

The role requires a clear vision for, and the leadership of:

  • the educational standards to which the college aspires
  • the expectations and ambitions of the college in relation to its students, parents, agents and staff
  • the style, character and culture of the college

The role also requires a clear understanding of the context in which the college operates, including:

  • the commercial, financial and competitive imperatives of the college
  • the statutory and regulatory environment of the college
  • the strategic objectives of the wider Kings Education group

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • the ability to manage operations in both an EFL and academic context including a large summer season
  • a demonstrable track-record of effective leadership and senior management experience within an independent school context
  • the energy, judgement, integrity and professionalism required to succeed in such a role

This represents a superb opportunity for an experienced educational professional to lead the college to the next level of excellence.

Suitable qualified candidates should apply, in writing, to:

The closing date for applications is Friday 16 June.

All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
