Bell Educational Services is seeking a Head of Young Learners to lead and manage all Bell Young Learner programmes, ensuring we exceed all our students expectations and taking responsibility for the safeguarding of children studying across all Bell programmes.

As the Head of Young Learners you will work closely with the Senior Management Team to set a clear strategic direction for the growth and development of Young Learner provision. You will agree and deliver on strategy and revenue targets ensuring the centres provide optimum financial contribution through budget control, managed costs and income generation initiatives.

The role will provide leadership and direction to Centre Managers and the internal Young Learner department, ensuring academic and activity programmes, student services and pastoral care are delivered to the highest standard, developing a culture of educational excellence, improvement, research and innovation.

As a Safeguarding Officer for Bell, the Head of Young Learners will lead our safeguarding team in shaping policies, procedures and attitude to ensure that we meet our duty-of-care for under-18 students and vulnerable adults

For over 40 years Bell has offered a range of outstanding Young Learner Programmes to overseas students aged 7 – 17. These unparalleled courses combine academic excellence with an exciting cultural and social programme and provide students with a unique experience and exceptional care. Bell currently runs Young Learner courses at four sites over 12 weeks in the summer, as well as a Spring, Autumn and Winter programmes in St Albans and closed courses throughout the year.

 

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong commercial background and an ability to think strategically. Proven leadership skills, ideally gained within a private or publically funded education environment, and the ability to engage and motivate staff at all levels are crucial.

Well-developed financial management skills, including budgeting and cost management, will be key in this role.

A safeguarding qualification at level 3 or above and an EFL teaching qualification, CELTA, TrinityTESOL or equivalent, are desirable.
