International Marketing and Communications Officer

d’Overbroeck’s, Oxford is seeking to appoint a proactive and highly focused International Marketing and Communications Officer, with a primary focus on the recruitment of international students. The job involves handling, planning and implementing international marketing initiatives, and contributing to the development of the school’s international marketing strategy

Job purpose / What we’re looking for

The International Marketing and Communications Officer will be responsible for delivering both offline and online marketing campaigns to support the recruitment efforts of the school in relation to its international markets. Recruitment marketing will make up 70% of the role, with the other 30% of the role dedicated to delivering marketing communication services to current students, alumni and staff. The role will be target focused – with enquiry targets, set at the beginning of the Academic year to match the international recruitment targets for the International School and Sixth Form.

The role is suited for a marketing generalist – someone who has a track record at delivering offline and online marketing campaigns. The right candidate will be skilled, fearless of failure, and ready to join a passionate and dedicated marketing team who are relentless in our pursuit of finding the best marketing solution for our stakeholders.

Our International Marketing and Communications Officer will: 

  • Demonstrate multi-channel campaign experience to attract, nurture and convert leads 
  • Act as d’Overbroeck’s Brand Ambassador 
  • Analyse, interpret and report data, manage media and digital agencies 
  • Provide leadership support to other marketing managers

Main duties and responsibilities

Strategy & Management

  • Develop integrated marketing communication plans related to international recruitment and communications with current students and families, alumni and staff; 
  • Manage the design, development, print production and delivery of collateral to support the recruitment team on time and within budget 
  • Monitor competitor activity 
  • Build relationship between marketing and sales/operations within d’Overbroeck’s and the Global Recruitment Team
  • Take the lead responsibility in delivering monthly & bi-annual reports on marketing and commercial performance for key regional markets;
  • Take responsibility for monitoring marketing spend and for periodic review/reporting against the set marketing budget; and
  • Develop image bank and copy for d’Overbroeck’s International School that can be used within marketing & sales teams. 

Advertising

  • Manage the setup and execution of advertising campaigns with local and national advertising agencies to support including copy writing and visual imagery.

Digital

  • Maximise the use of content marketing through the website – such as blogging, and newsletters; 
  • Deliver effective multi-channel marketing campaigns across all digital channels with a mixture of in-house and external teams; 
  • Manage content on website as and when required; and 
  • Report on digital marketing statistics on social channels regularly. 

PR, Event Planning

  • Plan advertising and promotional activities in the UK (in support of the Global Recruitment Unit); 
  • Manage PR activities in d’Overbroecks; and 
  • Undertake any other responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post, which the Marketing Director may from time to time require.

Person specification

Statutory requirements

  • Eligibility to live, work and travel freely in the UK
  • Undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure check or overseas equivalent 

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level
  • Desirable: A professional marketing qualification 

Experience and knowledge 

  • Significant experience of working in a marketing role 
  • Experience of overseeing multiple marketing campaigns 
  • An understanding of the key principles of successful marketing concepts
  • Experience of Mail Chimp or other email marketing systems.
  • Experience in producing marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers and presentations
  • Experience in creating and delivering tactical marketing plans
  • Evidence of using evidence and metrics to guide marketing activity
  • Experience in working across multiple digital channels (Content Management Systems, Facebook, Instagram)

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in the education sector 
  • Knowledge of the education sector 
  • Interest in search engine optimization
  • Keen interest in content marketing
