Basic Scope & Primary Objectives

We are looking for an experienced B2B marketing professional who can help raise awareness of THE’s dynamic new offering for prospective international students among universities in the US, Canada, UK and Australia.

Reporting into the Operations Director, it is a great opportunity to scope, design and deliver a new marketing proposition with a focus on lead-generation. The successful candidate will be responsible for the engagement and management of THE Student marketing campaigns to universities, working closely with THE’s passionate and elite global sales team to ensure they get the leads they need.

The core role of the B2B Marketing Manager is to establish relationships and source warm leads for our regional sales directors – a fantastic opportunity to engage with a wide range of international education professionals who, each day, are working to transform the lives of students around the world.

You will be a core part of a collaborative and passionate team at THE Student, and will be trusted to engage universities on behalf of Times Higher Education (THE), one of the best-known brands in higher education globally.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead Sourcing

  • Working with the senior team at THE, develop and implement a strategy to identify and engage key contacts in international and student marketing teams at universities in key territories.
  • Promote THE Student B2B opportunities across all digital channels – including the THE website - and through third parties, with a focus on lead generation.
  • Project manage B2B masterclasses from planning to delivery, working with key members of the THE team to schedule, and develop content.
  • Develop innovative and original B2B marketing collateral / thought leadership pieces, leveraging unparalleled insights and data from THE’s student community panel and databases.
  • Provide market intelligence updates to the Sales and Customer Success teams about the needs and requirements of the sector, and how THE Student can help address them.

Lead Management

  • Consolidate and maintain a database of B2B leads for the sales team to ensure a coordinated approach is taken when engaging them.
  • Segment leads and develop workflows to ensure that regular, tailored communications are sent.
  • Ensure that leads are nurtured, and assist the sales team in follow-up meetings when required.
  • Work with THE Student’s “trusted partners” in the sector to ensure a coordinated approach to engaging university departments, where relevant.
  • Producing light-touch operational reports that demonstrate the impact of lead-generation activities upon sales.

 

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience or equivalent in B2B marketing, with a focus on lead generation
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. communications, marketing, international student recruitment)
  • Personable, and unafraid of reaching out to contacts “cold” in order to establish a relationship.
  • Be a team player with the confidence to work with a host of internal and external stakeholders and take the lead in working with the sales team to generate the leads they need.
  • Willingness to work in a “start-up” environment, where all members of the team are prepared to roll up their sleeves.

Desirable Skills/Qualification

  •  Direct Higher Education or B2B marketing / international student recruitment experience.
