International Study Centres (ISCs) provide specialist university preparation for international students who want to enter the university system. The preparation centres are largely located on campuses throughout the UK, Europe, China, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
We are looking for two International Marketing Managers to join our expanding team. You will manage and work at one of two ISCs based at the University of Wales, Newport or in Leeds. This is a demanding role requiring you to be the relationship manager, brand ambassador and product champion for your ISCs. How your ISC courses perform and are perceived in market will be down to you.
Responsible for achieving your centre’s student recruitment targets, you will work with our university partners and the ISC Sales and Marketing teams to develop and deliver a rolling 12 month marketing activity plan.

The Deputy Head of International Marketing is responsible for driving the marketing planning for a number of our UK and Europe ISCs managing a team of International Marketing Managers who are based on our University partner campuses and who are responsible for working with the marketing delivery teams to deliver industry leading marketing campaigns.
The Deputy Head of International Marketing reports into the Head of International Marketing and will have day to day responsibility for one International Study Centre as well as responsibility for one or more functional areas (e.g. admissions, accommodation, sales forecasts, product development) across all UK & Europe ISCs.
Working in a dynamic and ever-changing business environment, this role has a recruitment focus and the Deputy Head of International Marketing needs to be a highly motivated, results-orientated individual capable of motivating their team to achieve ambitious growth targets.
International Marketing Manager
Main duties:
• Ensure that student recruitment targets are achieved
• Serve as the main Study Group sales and marketing point of contact for the partner universities
• Develop and implement a rolling 12 month marketing plan in conjunction with key stakeholders
• Contribute to development of website content, prospectus copy and any other marketing material for the ISC, ensuring that messages are on brand and appropriate to the target audience
• Work with university partners student recruitment teams to develop a programme of joint in-country recruitment activity
• As the brand ambassador for the ISC develop a comprehensive and targeted training programme for key Study Group staff, agents and stakeholders and work with the ISC Recruitment Team to establish the need for attendance at agent training and student recruitment events overseas
• Work with university partners to identify new pathway and strategic opportunities (on-campus, TNE and distance learning), establish their recruitment potential and ensure a successful launch to market
• Serve as guardian of the university partner brands to ensure correct use and management across all operations and student recruitment activity
• Develop and manage a network of ISC alumni in order to enhance the ISC proposition through (but not limited to) testimonials, attendance in webinars and participation in on-campus promotional activities
• Develop a referral process with the university partners in order to recruit university applicants to the International Study Centre
Essential criteria:
• Experience of working and developing relationships within UK Universities
• Strong relationship management experience and skills, ideally within the UK Higher Education sector
• Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organisational skills and demonstrable ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Excel and other Office applications
• Experience of successfully managing spend budgets
• Ability to analyse data to inform marketing strategy and planning
• Willingness to travel within the UK, and at times, overseas
Desirable criteria:
• Experience of working in an international business
• Experience of running or overseeing digital marketing campaigns and managing marketing budgets
• Proficiency in creating and using pivot tables
Additional responsibility of Deputy Head of International Marketing
Additional main duties:
• Growing sales through the development and implementation of centre marketing plans
• Devising and implementing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns in international markets
• Managing and coaching a team of International Marketing Managers based throughout the UK and EU
• Ensuring high levels of marketing support are provided to regional and brand sales teams
• Providing input into the ISC development and expansion strategy
• Leading within one or more functional areas
• Deputising for the Head of International Marketing when necessary
Additional essential criteria:
• Experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets in higher education
• Commercial, target focused
• Strong leadership skills or potential and the ability to lead in a high performance environment
• Experience of developing relationships with universities or other higher education institutions
• Experience of working in an international environment
Additional desirable criteria:
• Growing sales in higher education through a multi-channel marketing strategy
• Experience of running or overseeing digital marketing campaigns and managing marketing budgets
• Experience of line management and of motivating others to hit sales targets
